Immediate and best possible care can be decisive for the further development of tooth and jaw growth after a dental accident (dental trauma).
Dental accidents can also be accompanied by other injuries that require immediate medical attention.
Medical and dental care should therefore be provided after a dental accident.

What do we offer?
Within the Charité - Universitätsmedizin we offer you an interdisciplinary team for the treatment of dental trauma.
This team is under the professional direction of:
- Prof. Dr. Henrik Dommisch, Department of Periodontology, Oral Medicine and Oral Surgery, and
- OA Dr. Sascha Herbst, Department of Oral Diagnostics and Digital Health and Health Services Research).
Furthermore, the team includes colleagues who are specialized in the treatment of dental accidents (dental trauma) and represent all dental disciplines within the Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin
What do you need to consider?
If the dental accident is accompanied by further injuries to the head or other parts of the body, we ask you to immediately visit the nearest medical accident clinic (e.g. emergency room of a hospital). It may be necessary to call the emergency doctor (telephone number: 112).
How do you get in contact with us?
If possible, please call us on telephone number +49 30 450 562 386 (during the day) or +49 30 450 662 613 (during the night) to announce your arrival and describe the circumstances of the accident.
Alternatively, you can come directly to the University Day Clinic of the Charité Dental Clinic (Department of Oral Diagnostics and Digital Health and Health Services Research, Director: Prof. Dr. Schwendicke), so that we can attend to you immediately in our interdisciplinary dental accident clinic.
Opening hours can be found on the pages of the day clinic and the dental emergency service of the Charité dental clinic.
What do you need to know?
Please transport the affected tooth or all available tooth fragments ideally in a tooth rescue box or alternatively in long-life milk. Please do not store them in a dry place!
If you have already been to another doctor, please bring all available x-rays and written reports with you.
