Vita Univ.-Prof. Dr. med. dent. Falk Schwendicke
Professor and Head of Department, Oral Diagnostics, Digital Health and Health Services Research. Demonstrable track record of clinical and scientific excellence in the field of diagnostics, operative, preventive and data-driven dentistry.
Prof. Schwendicke's research interests include dental diagnostics and artificial intelligence, health economics and health services research, restorative and preventive dentistry, and public health. He has authored over 500 articles, 200 abstracts, and 30 book chapters. Prof. Schwendicke has received a number of prestigious awards and is a reviewer for over 40 journals, including Lancet and the New England Journal of Medicine, as well as for various national funding agencies (DFG, BMBF, Innovation Fund). He is Associate Editor of the Journal of Dental Research and chairs working groups at the World Health Organization (WHO), the World Dental Federation (FDI), the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), and DIN. Prof. Schwendicke holds honorary professorships at the Universities of Aarhus (Denmark) and Chennai (India). He has been one of the most cited researchers worldwide in dentistry for many years (Standford Ranking <1%).
